Chester Eugene Threlkeld of Sheridan, Arkansas went to be with his Lord in Heaven on August 22, 2006 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock at the age of 69. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Harriett Threlkeld and a brother Travis Threlkeld.

Eugene had been employed by Arkansas Oak in Sheridan for a number of years and he had retired from May Construction in Little Rock. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved doing things with his family and many friends. He will be greatly missed and he was deeply loved by his wife and family.

He left behind his loving wife Evelyn of the home; Daughters and Son in laws, Diane and Roy Lamb of Sheridan; Sydney Eggers of Cabot; Betsy and Bill Bracas of Spring, Texas; Son and daughter in law, Randy and Shirley Threlkeld of Prattsville; Stepdaughter and son in law, Patty and Eddie Vinyard of Mabelvale; Stepson, Mike Bateman of Sheridan; Sister, Joyce Beck of Sheridan; Brother, Rex Threlkeld of Sheridan, Brother in law, Bill Currie of Elizabethan, Tennessee and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Grandchildren; Jeremy Threlkeld and wife Amber; Nick Threlkeld and wife, Shelly; Erin Sterrit and husband Doug; Heather Stewart and husband Brad; Krystal Caldwell, Jason Vinyard, Josh Vinyard, Kristi Nulty and husband Phillip; Chad Bateman and wife Sara; Jennifer Bateman; and adopted granddaughter, Carrie Garner and husband Brandon. Great grandchildren, Haley, Hanna, Hunter, Preston and Deven Threlkeld; Brandon and Alex Forman; Kala Barlow Vinyard, Braden Stewart and Payton Sterrett;

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel in Sheridan with Bro. George Yarberry officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Cane Creek Cemetery at Ico off Highway 167 North on Grant County Road #58. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-8 PM at the funeral home. Pallbearers are Jeremy Threlkeld, Nick Threlkeld, Jason Vinyard, Josh Vinyard, Chad Bateman and Steve Threlkeld. Honorary pallbearers are Randy Threlkeld, Jackie Stone, Jimmy Miller and Bill Reynolds.

The family would like to extend special thanks to a nephew, Steve Threlkeld for all his help and support during his illness and special appreciation goes to his dear friends, Jackie Stone, David Leslie, Dewayne Redd, Clayton Howard and Jimmy Smith for their kindness and willing spirit to always help. Also much thanks goes to Dr. Larry Mendelsohn, his staff and the 10th floor of the Baptist Medical Center for their kindness and concern during Chester Eugene's long battle with cancer.
