Obituary

Christine Coursey Blake of Sheridan, Arkansas was born July 1, 1929 at Augusta, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Richard Oliver Coursey and Reba Thorn Coursey. She was a member of Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church at Prattsville and was a retired nurse.

Mrs. Blake died Friday, January 23, 2015 at Saline Memorial Hospice at the age of 85. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Rayford Blake; brothers, Floyd Pasley, Buddy Coursey and Richard Coursey.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Kenneth Dixon of Sheridan and Phyllis and Billy Ross of Paron; sisters, Opal Edwards of Memphis, Tennessee, Peggy Pratt and husband J.C. of Cabot; grandchildren, Brannon and wife Jessica Wells, Jeff and wife Karina Pierce, Trinity Grimstead; great grandchildren, Keely Wells, Peyton Wells, Noah Pierce, Donaven Pierce, Gracie Grimstead, Scarlet Pierce.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, January 26, 2015 in the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel in Sheridan with Bro. J.C. Patterson officiating. Burial will be in Lost Creek Cemetery. Visitation will also be Monday, from 1:00 P.M. until service time.

Pallbearers are Tony Irwin, Gary Shoptaw, Harold Holiman, Randy Buie, David Bean and Randy Blake.

Memorials may be made to the building fund at Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church, 281 Grant 48, Prattsville, Arkansas 72129 or Saline Memorial Hospice, 23157 I-30, Bryant, Arkansas 72022.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to both Crown Point Retirement Center in Sheridan, as well as Saline Memorial Hospice, for the kindness and caring that they gave to Christine and the family.
