Obituary

Dalie Herman Hooker, went to his heavenly home Tuesday, March 7 th at the age of 94.  He was born January 14, 1929 in Howard County, near Nashville, Arkansas.  Dalie accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior as a young boy and followed Him faithfully his entire life.  He was a United States Marine Corps veteran, serving during and after the Korean War in California and Japan.  A sawmill operator and truck driver by trade, his passions were gospel singing and worshiping God with his church family.  He was a faithful husband, loving father, and loyal member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Sheridan.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Corine (Wilson) Hooker; parents, Andrew Dee Hooker and Lillie (Jeffers) Hooker, two brothers and three sisters.

He is survived by one brother, Glenn Hooker of Bossier City, Louisiana; 3 children, Michael Dee Hooker (Patricia) of Benton, Sherry Lynn Bratton (Joe) of Sheridan, and Paula Velazquez of Springdale; two grandchildren, Angela Peeks (Andy) of Riverton, WY, and Matthew Wallis (Ashley) of Elkins; and five great-grandchildren.

A time of visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 A.M. Friday, March 10, 2023 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel in Sheridan.  Graveside funeral services will be at 3:00 P.M. Friday at Redmen Cemetery in DeQueen with Bro. Joe Bratton officiating.
