Daniel Cole Walters of Redfield, Arkansas was born November 30, 1952 in Sheridan, Arkansas to the late Bradford Cole and Katherine Walters. He passed away July 5, 2023 at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas surrounded by his family. Dan graduated from Sheridan High School in 1971. He married the love of his life, Anita Jeffcoat Walters on June 7, 1974. They spent 48 1/2 years together before Anita passed away.
Dan retired after many years of service from Napa Auto Parts and O'Reilly's. He served for 20 years in the Arkansans National Guard of Sheridan 1971-1991. Dan was a member Redfield Missionary Baptist Church since 1984 where he taught Sunday School for many years. He was a devout Christian and loved his Lord and Savior.
Dan loved his family and friends deeply. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports and play in band concerts, taking them hunting and having family get togethers. Besides hunting, he loved fishing, gardening, reading, bird watching, and watching a great ball game on tv. If you knew Dan he always had a kind word with a huge smile that was so contagious. You couldn't help but love him! He was truly one of the best men on this earth! He was the best dad and papaw ever! He was such a Godly example and would do anything to help anyone!
Dan and Anita had three children, Aaron Walters (Rebecca), Tara Derby(Charles), and Matthew Walters ( Rick). grandchildren; Morgan Walters, Gunner Walters, Holly Simonetti (Grayson): Brodie Derby, Braxton Derby, Bryce Derby, Lilly Perkins, Harley Wilson, Anthony Wilson; and a great grandson, Lane Simonetti and great granddaughter Addie Simonetti. He is also survived by his brothers; David Walters (Myrtle), Doug Walters (Barbara), Dennis Walters, Dwayne Walters (Toni): sisters; Ruth Bird, Rebecca Crowder (Byron), Rita Jackson (Jimbo): his sister-in-law Linda Owens and brother-in-law Mike Jeffcoat (Elaine) and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at Redfield Missionary Baptist Church 500 Davis Avenue, Redfield, AR 72132. Visitation will be July 8, 2023 from 9:00 AM until service time at 10:00 AM. Burial will be at Jacob Cemetery with Bro. Chris Gage officiating.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Gunner Walters, Brodie Derby, Braxton Derby, Bryce Derby, Grayson Simonetti, and his brothers Doug Walters, Dennis Walters and brother-in-law, Jimbo Jackson.
