Danny Barnes of Sherwood, Arkansas was born January 20, 1962 in Little Rock, Arkansas, the son of the late Billy Charles and Elouise Miller Barnes. He was a 1980 graduate of Sheridan High School. He joined the US Army in September 1979 and retired out September 2001, achieving the rank of Staff Sargeant. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, grilling and watching Razorback baseball games.

On September 6, 2016 he married the love of his life, Susan Renee Fulmer Barnes. They met August 29, 2014.

Danny went home to be with his Lord on Friday, June 30, 2017 at Arkansas Hospice in Little Rock at the age of 55.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Calvin and Zelma Barnes and Othar and Ora Miller.
He is survived by his best friend, caregiver and wife, Susan Renee Fulmer Barnes of Sherwood; daughters, Laura Begley and husband Brian of Benton, Rachel Boardman and husband John of East End, Kathy Ashlin and husband Justin of Alexander; his baby brother, best friend and fighting partner who he called "Shug", Darrell and wife Stacy Barnes of Sheridan; 8 grandchildren and one on the way and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and a ton of friends.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Monday, July 3, 2017 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Sheridan. Visitation will be Sunday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be Friday, July 7, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock.
Honorary pallbearers are Mikeal Griffith, Mike Johnson, Roger House, Mark Rook, Dane Stevenson, Danny Myers, Charlie Sullivan and his grandchildren.

The family has requested that you wear your favorite Razorback shirt to the service.
