Daniel Edward Knowlton, "Danny", of Benton, Arkansas was born May 3, 1953 in Harrisburg, Arkansas, the son of Emma Davis Knowlton and the late William "Bill" Edward Knowlton. He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast, scuba driver, longtime blues and rock aficionado, and king of corny jokes. Dan was a great storyteller and generous to a fault.
Dan went home to be with his Heavenly Father Thursday, March 8 at St. Vincent's Infirmary at the age of 64.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a son, Aaron Scott Knowlton.
Survivors include his wife, Vickie Dunigan Knowlton of Benton, his mother, Emma Knowlton of Harrisburg, Arkansas, a son, Patrick Knowlton and daughter-in-law Tina of Cache, Oklahoma, a daughter, Kate and son-in-law Chase Cantrell of North Little Rock, a step-daughter, Amy Naugher and her husband John of Ore City, Texas, and a step-son , Chris Wilkerson of Fordyce, Arkansas. He is also survived by his grandchildren who he adored and spoiled, Anna and Carley Knowlton of Cache, Oklahoma; Emma, Ainsley, and Caleb Cantrell of North Little Rock; Allissa Buchanan of Ore City, Texas; and Keeley and Cash Wilkerson of Bezanson, Alberta, Canada. He is also survived by a sister, Donna Greer and brother-in-law Joe of Haynesville, Louisiana, a sister, Lisa Bennett of Springdale, Arkansas, and a brother and his best friend ,Mike Knowlton and his wife Melissa of Alexander, Arkansas. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews and friends.
A service celebrating his life and his homecoming will be held on Tuesday, March 13 at 2 pm in Memorial Gardens Chapel in Sheridan, Arkansas. Visitation will be Monday, March 12 from 6 to 8 pm in the chapel at Memorial Gardens, also. Burial will be in the New Hope Cemetery south of Sheridan.
Rev. Mike Tinker and Rev. Chase Cantrell will officiate the service.
The family wishes to extend its heartfelt thanks to Dr. Krisht, his staff, and the wonderful nursing staff in the neurosurgery ICU at St. Vincent's Infirmary for their compassionate and attentive care of our loved one.
