Danny E. Ray of Sheridan, Arkansas was born February 27, 1956 in Loyalton, California, the son of the late Lenard Lecoy and Pauline Taylor Ray. He was of the Baptist faith having been saved at a young age. He was a 1974 graduate of Grapevine High School and had worked for 29 years for Hood Packaging and had also worked for the Grant County Road Department. He enjoyed cracking jokes, fishing and hunting, having been past president of Tayloray Hunting Club.
Danny died Monday, July 27, 2015 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Malvern at the age of 59.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a niece, Trisha Collins.
Survivors: wife, Mary Jane Bratton Ray of Sheridan; daughter, Tara Hope Ray and fiancé, Nick Hall of Fayetteville; brother, Johnny Ray and wife Wanda of California; sisters, Patsy Jardin and husband Rick of Loyalton, California, Paulette Devlin and husband Mike of Grapevine; sister-in-law, Debra and husband Robert Irvin of Kerrville, Texas; aunt, Geneva Massey of Grapevine; uncles, Floyd Ray and wife Patsy of Sheridan, Elvis Ray and wife Nina of Oregon; his faithful companion, Chico and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, August 1, 2015 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Rusty Womble officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Jim Allen, John David Heird, Lonnie Crabtrey, Jon Hart, Wendell Carrell and Pete Lybrand. Honorary pallbearers are the employees of the Grant County Road Department, members of the Tayloray Hunting Club, Jeff Lybrand and Mike Funderburg.
