Obituary

David W. Brown was born December 12, 1955, in Newark, New Jersey, the second son of the late Charles Brown and Iva Mae West. He peacefully passed away on October 27, 2023, in Sheridan Arkansas with his wife by his side.

Dave was a loving husband and was devoted to his wife Tracy and their family. He was a member of Philadelphia Missionary Baptist Church, Prattsville AR. He served our country proudly during the Vietnam War in the Air Force stationed at Keesler AFB where he acquired the nick name "Maddog" for being a MP dog trainer. He was honorably discharged. A Machinist by trade, he loved to create and machined his own chess pieces, a pair of brass candle sticks, and many other items over the years.

In 2004, he married the love of his life, a southern girl from Arkansas, who warmed his heart. This Yankee gladly left the northern snow and minus degree weather for the warm beauty of Arkansas.  With her encouragement his artistic side developed, and he enjoyed many years creating landscape paintings and progressed to signature creative art projects on wood and other materials. He loved fishing, camping, and enjoyed a good prank. He became the best proclaimed "city-slicken country boy" around!

He was kindhearted, gentle, generous, and had a wonderful sense of humor. He was the best Pop and spent time teaching art techniques to the Grands while listening to his old school rock & roll.

Survivors include his devoted wife of 19 years Tracy of Sheridan, AR, sons Joseph (Hannah) Brown, Elyria, OH, Brent (Elizabeth) Leopard, Brad (Heather) Leopard, and daughter Jessica (Jason) Smith all of Sheridan. Grandchildren Rocky Brown, Jarah & Drew Leopard, Damien, Philip & Blake Leopard, Kameran Massey, Jaxson, and Makenlie Camp: Brothers Chuck (Becky) Brown, Cleveland OH, Ronald (Tina) Brown, Henderson TN & Robert West,Cleveland, OH. Brothers and Sisters-in-law Michael (Pam) Gilbert, Bob (Tina) McCurry. Many nieces, nephews, dear cousins, and friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on November 19, 2023, 2 pm at Philadelphia Missionary Baptist Church in Prattsville, AR.
