David Henry "Dave" Walters of Sheridan, Arkansas was born June 6, 1945 at Dumas, Arkansas, the son of the late Elmer Augusta and Ruth Henry Walters.  He was a devoted member of Sheridan Church of Christ for many years.  He was retired from the Arkansas Democrat Gazette newspaper.

Dave died Friday, January 10, 2025 at UAMS Medical Center in Little Rock at the age of 79. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Matthew Caplinger "Matt" Walters and David Christian Walters,  and his brother, Sonny Walters.

Survivors include his wife, Sammye Caplinger Walters of Sheridan, and grandsons, Tyler Walters (Sam Golden) of Little Rock and Nicholas Walters of Conway; brother-in-law Randy Caplinger (Karen) of Wylie, Texas; niece, Tiffany Gruber (Brandon) of Wylie, Texas; nephew, Justin Caplinger (Lacey)  and their daughter Harper of Arlington, Texas; cousin, Vicki Patrick of Crossett, Arkansas.  He is also survived by his Sheridan Church of Christ family.

A Celebration of Dave's life will be held at 6:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at Sheridan Church of Christ (901 N. Main St.).
