David L. Tharpe of Sheridan, Arkansas was born December 8, 1929 in Pine Bluff, the son of the late William Joseph and Felcia Myers Tharpe. He was a member and Deacon at First Baptist Church in Sheridan, was retired from Entergy and had served in the Navy as a Geologist Surveyor during the Korean Conflict. He was also a Republican.

Mr. Tharpe died Thursday, August 23, 2007 at St. Edwards Hospital in Fort Smith at the age of 77.

Son, Greg and wife Denise Tharpe of El Dorado Hills, California;
Daughter, Jerri and husband Tom Ryan of Fort Smith;
Grandchildren; Jacob, Rachel, Leah, Hannah, Daniel, Michael, Kevin, Jackson and Brian

Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, August 25, 2007 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Sheridan with Dr. Sam Adkins and Rev. Mark Lindsey officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be 11:00 AM until service time.
