Dawson Wade Whitmire, 27 years old, of Sheridan, Arkansas, passed unexpectedly on January 6th, 2023. Born April 26, 1995, he graduated from Poyen High School and attended College of the Ouachitas. He worked as a bartender and heavy machine operator and became a successful business co-owner of Top Notch Tree Service in Sheridan, Arkansas. Dawson was predeceased by his Uncle Terry Gibbs, Grandpa Barney Gibbs, Papaw Ronald Johnson and Grandpa Carilee Whitmire.

He leaves behind his cherished 3 year old daughter, Madelyn Kate Whitmire-Shoptaw and her mother, Katie Shoptaw (Sheridan).  He was the beloved son of Lisa Patrice (Gibbs) and Gregg Tompkins and Walter Lee (Aleda) Whitmire. He leaves behind siblings Dawn Bearden (North Little Rock), Lindsey (Kristen) Woods (Ward), Chris (Christi) Whitmire (Sheridan), Jonathan Trey Tompkins (Little Rock), Chad Tompkins (Rector), David (Tara) Tompkins (Mt Pleasant, TX), Jerry Mullins (Sheridan), Christy Singleton (Sheridan), Rebecca Pate (Sheridan), Darrell Jennings (Sheridan); nieces/nephews: Bella Garcia and Oliver (Woods), Alyzabeth, Keaton, Ryan (Tompkins), Aubree, Katelee, Max and Nico (Whitmire), Catherine, JJ, Landon, and Logan (Mullins), Caleb, Kaylyn and Kaylee (Tompkins, Mt Pleasant TX) and Kolby, Blake (Rimmer) and Karilee (Singleton), Saliah and Grace (Pate), and Grandmothers Jean "Momma-Jean" Johnson and Katie Whitmire (Sheridan). He was loved dearly and will be sorely missed by numerous aunts and uncles, cousins and friends.  He was always most appreciative of the relationship he had with Dustin and Alana Mitchell and Phillip Edwards and the influence they had on his life. He also leaves behind Helix and Tilly, his faithful canine companions.

Dawson had a great love for adventure and the outdoors and spent so many happy times out at "the Lake" with family and friends. He was the proud winner of a well deserved "Best Dad Award"! His smile was infectious and could fill a room and everyone that knows him realizes the impact he had on others.

Please join us for the celebration of his life. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 PM Tuesday, January 10 ^th , 2023 to be immediately followed by Memorial services commencing at 7:00 PM at New Life Fellowship Church 3482 Hwy 270 East, Sheridan, Arkansas.
