Dean Mitchell of Grapevine, Arkansas was born December 30, 1952 in Harrisburg, Louisiana, the son of the late Thomas B. and Doris O. Snyder Mitchell. He was a member of Pine Hill Baptist Church in Sicily Island, La and had worked at Centria. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.

Dean died Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at his home at the age of 72.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James Wesley "Buster" Mitchell; sisters, Mary Lou Bryant, Wanda Ward, Diane Mitchell and Norma Jean Vines.

Survivors: wife of 45 years, Debbie Raney Mitchell of Sheridan; sons, Joe Boone (Amy) of Jigger, LA, Erich Boone of Sicily Island, LA; daughter, Jennifer Kervin (Aaron) of Prattsville; brothers, Bobby Mitchell of Brook Haven, MS, Raymond Mitchell (Marsha) of Vidalia, LA; sister, Fern Beard of Ferriday, LA; 4 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren and a host of extended family members and friends.

Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, February 14, 2025 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Bethel South Cemetery. Visitation is prior to the service from 9:00 until service time.

Pallbearers are Joe Boone, Erich Boone, Steve Ward, David Ivey, Blake Finley, and Anthony Florence. Honorary pallbearer is Aaron Kervin.
