Obituary

Della Mae Carr Williams, 81, of Sheridan, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on November 30, 2019. She was born May 16, 1938 in Sheridan, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Randall E. Carr and Wilma Webb Carr. She graduated from Sheridan High School in 1956. She earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology with a minor in Social Services. Mrs. Williams retired from the Department of Human Services in 2004 after 38 years of service. She was a licensed social worker and was a dedicated public servant and assisted many people in Grant County. She received many certificates and awards for her volunteering while serving as a 4-H Leader, Arkansas State Employees Association (ASEA) District 7, Director of Arkansas State Human Services Association as secretary and treasurer.

She was an active member of First Baptist Church in Sheridan for over 65 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Carrol Carr, a sister, Charlene Carr Cupples, and her devoted husband of 52 years, Owen Key Williams, Sr.

She is survived by her son, Owen Key Williams, Jr. and wife Becky of Searcy; daughter, Cynthia (Cindy) Ann Pye and husband Brady Allen Pye of Sheridan; brother, Randy E. Carr and wife Lynn and their children, Carrie Baller and Tracie Carr; grandchildren, Jessica Files and husband Zach of Rogers, Amber Kraus and husband Joel of Dover, Delaware, Timothy and Brianna Pye of Sheridan, Renee Pye of Jefferson; great grandchildren, Paul Kraus of Dover Delaware; nephew, Jerry Williams and wife Christine and their children of Bella Vista, Kenneth Williams and wife Mary and their children of Hamburg and many cousins and friends.

Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michael Daughtery and Rev. Stace Cupples officiating. Burial will follow at Lost Creek Cemetery in Sheridan. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 1201 South Rock, Sheridan, Arkansas 72150.
