Obituary

Denver Dale Culpepper of Sheridan, Arkansas was born April 4, 1949 in Pine Bluff, the son of the late Oscar Norris Culpepper, Sr. and Alice (Graves) Culpepper Lovelace Skipworth. He retired from the Pine Bluff Arsenal Security Division in 2013 with the rank of sergeant after serving there for more than 34 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Sheridan and attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Pine Bluff.

Mr. Culpepper began his eternal rest with his Risen Lord and Savior on    Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at Sheridan Healthcare and Rehab at the age of 73 after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease.

Denver graduated from Sheridan High School in 1967. After high school, he honorably served his nation in the United States Air Force and was stationed in both Okinawa, Japan during the Vietnam crisis as well as Minot, North Dakota where he met the love of his life. After completing his service, he returned with his new wife to his beloved hometown of Sheridan where they enjoyed spending time with friends, family and helping the community.

In his spare time, Denver enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time in the woods. He was a certified firearms instructor and won several shooting competitions over the years. He was an expert marksman with both bows and guns, and he loved attaining the triple crown in hunting as often as possible. He was the president of Simpson Creek Hunting Club for many years as well. He also enjoyed spending time playing video games, working in his shop to create things from wood like bookshelves and repairing anything he could.

Survivors: wife of 50 years, Darlene Hance Culpepper of Sheridan; daughters, Michelle (Jay) Harriman of Watkinsville, GA, Ericka (Robert) Hendricks of Sheridan; brothers, JC Culpepper of Leola, Norris Culpepper of Sheridan; sister, Diane Vance of Ico; grandchildren, Elizabeth Harriman, Alicia Harriman, Sam Boyd, Cammie Taylor, Timber Hendricks, Jacob Jordan and a host of nieces, nephews and friends and a beloved pet named Sophie.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 12, 2022 at 10:00 am at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Sheridan with Bro. Todd Paul Taulbee officiating.
