Dewey T. "D.T." Jones, 91, of Prattsville, Arkansas was born September 19, 1921 in Emerson, Arkansas, the son of the late Thomas Foster Jones, Jr. and Alma Lee Tomlin Jones. He was a member of the Sheridan Church of Christ. D.T. had only an 8th grade education but went on to serve in the United States Army during WWII. After service, he became a long haul driver for Strickland Transportation where he retired after 33 years of service.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mattie Ellen Jones; daughter, Betty Jane Andrews; siblings, Verna Jones Bridwell, Arnold Ralph Jones, Dorothy Jones Payne, Thomas Foster Jones, Jr. and Frank Jones.

Survivors include his children, Virginia "Jenny" Wetherington and husband Roy C. Wetherington of Sheridan, Alva Elaine Dean and husband Ronnie Dean of Bernice, Louisiana, Jerald Dwayne Jones of Louisiana; siblings, Virginia Jones Haynes Benson and Dale Jones, both of Shongaloo, Louisiana and Lealyce Jones Smith of Taylor, Arkansas; 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 14 great great grandchildren. He was also blessed with many loving nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He also had a best friend and pet "Alex Jarrett Jones".

Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M., Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel in Sheridan with Tom Warmack officiating. Burial will follow at Philadelphia Cemetery at Prattsville. Visitation will also be Tuesday, from 9:00 A.M. until service time.
