Dolores Jane McCoy McGarity of Sheridan, Arkansas was born October 16, 1940 at Booneville, Arkansas the daughter of the late Elton McCoy and Wilma Beck Yarbrough. She was a member of Pine Ridge Cumberland Presbyterian Church and worked at Wal-Mart in Sheridan for a number of years. To say she loved her family was definitely an understatement. For years she was wife, mama, and road manager, as The McGarity's traveled all over the country pickin' and singing bluegrass. She was a great cook, and her best pies were the best around.

Mrs. McGarity died Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at Sheridan Healthcare and Rehab at the age of 79. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Pete McGarity and a sister, Barbara Sayles.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Mike Henry of Sheridan; sons and daughters-in-law, Phil and Carol McGarity of Sheridan, Billy and Gaye Lynn McGarity of Union City, Tennessee, and Britt and Mandy McGarity of Sheridan; sister, Kathy Finley of Sheridan; grandchildren, Megan (Robby) Brady, Casey (Heather) McGarity, Kristen (Drew) Evans, Audrey (Joshua) Ashcroft, Caitlin Henry, Breannon (Bobby) Shaffer, Josie McGarity, Carly McGarity, and Zane McGarity; great grandchildren, Baker Brady, Carson Brady, Anna Kate Evans, Gregory Ashcroft, Camreigh McGarity, and McKynley McGarity. She is also survived by numerous other family members and many friends.

Due to Covid 19, funeral services will be private. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery.
