Donald Gene McJunkins of Brush Creek Community near Leola, was born February 16, 1937 at Ector, Texas, the son of the late J.D. and Rilza Ballard McJunkins. He was a member of Leola United Methodist Church, was formerly in the Arkansas National Guard, was a member of Old Man's Hunting Club and was a retired self-employed truck driver. Mr. McJunkins' passion in life was enjoying every moment he spent with his family.

Mr. McJunkins died Monday, November 27, 2006 at his home at the age of 69. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Mary McJunkins and a brother Ford McJunkins.

Survivors: Wife, Mary Jeanne Aikin McJunkins of the home, with whom he celebrated 50 years of marriage on May 30, 2006.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, December 1, 2006 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Sheridan. Burial will follow at Brush Creek Cemetery near Leola. Visitation: 6-8 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
