Donna Ruth Buie Hughes of Sheridan, Arkansas was born February 12, 1951 in Roseburg, Oregon, the daughter of Marjorie House Buie and the late John Thomas Buie. She was a member of Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church in Prattsville, and was employed with the Sheridan School District, having served as a bus driver for years, and most recently, cafeteria manager. She enjoyed bargain shopping, reading, and playing the slots at Tunica. Donna also enjoyed traveling, and had been through every state except for Alaska and Hawaii. Her greatest love was each moment God gave her to be with her family.

Mrs. Hughes died Friday, April 10, 2014, at her home in Sheridan, at the age of 63. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, John Mark Buie and her step-father, Wayne Medley.

Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Richard Hughes of Sheridan; son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Kelli Hughes of Beebe; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Scott Dutton of Sheridan; mother, Marjorie Medley of Malvern; brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Cathy Buie of Malvern; grandchildren, James Hughes, Jacob Hughes, Zach Dutton, Cole Mulligan, Zach Mulligan; numerous other family members and countless numbers of friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, April 14, 2014, at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel in Sheridan, with Bro. Don Goodman officiating. Burial will be in Philadelphia Cemetery at Prattsville. Visitation is Sunday, 2:00-4:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
