Dora Ella Hampton Hedden, 82, of Grapevine, Arkansas, was born in Lonoke, Arkansas on October 7, 1923, the daughter of the late Adam and Dora Cordelia Langrell Hampton. She died at her home on April 15, 2006 at the age of 82 years.
She was a member of Hedden Chapel Assembly of God Church at Grapevine and was a Sunday School Teacher for 35 years. She was an Avon Representative for 30 years and was Hedden Chapel Mother of the Year, 1980. She was a member of Woodman of the World, the Grant County Cattleman's Association and the Hedden Chapel Quartet. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by
3 brothers: Lawrence Hampton; A.D. Hampton; Virgil Hampton and
3 sisters: Thelma Rye; Flossie McGarity and Virginia Pendergrass and a grand-daughter, Mollie Blair.
Survivors are her husband, Carl Hedden, whom she married on June 13, 1941;
a son: Vanas Hedden (wife Linda) of Grapevine;
2 daughters Janie Elton and Janet Davis (husband Conrad), both of Grapevine;
3 sisters: Hazel Cantrell of Sheridan and
Evelyn Stepherson,of Valparaiso, Indiana and
Mary Mills of North Little Rock
10 Grandchildren: Gary and Bruce Hedden, Kerri Horn, Kendra Bradford, Ray Williams, Becky Bull, Eugene Davis, Tina Smith, Tim and Ricky Elton
16 Great-grandchildren: Sara and Anthony Hedden, Tylar Horn, Brittany and Cole Bradford, Dakota and Sierra Hedden, Blake and Luke Williams, Jude Elton, Sam Bull, C.J., Alecia and Zack Davis, Adam Pendergrass and Corey Williams
Funeral Services will be Monday, April 17,2006 at 2:00 PM at Hedden Chapel Assembly of God Church in Grapevine with Rev. C.C. Hodges, Rev. C.M. Carey and Rev. Basil Edwards officiating. Burial will be in Hedden Chapel Cemetery by Memorial Gardens Funeral Home of Sheridan. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday, from 5 until 8 PM.
