Laura Dorcas Elliott of Leola, Arkansas was born June 12, 1925 in Lebanon Kansas, the daughter of the late Bundy and Nettie Seems. She was a member of Leola Missionary Baptist Church and was the retired owner of AK&W Hardware in Leola. She was a volunteer with the ladies American Legion Auxiliary.

Dorcas died Thursday, February 9, 2006 at Webster County Hospital in Red Cloud, Nebraska at the age of 80. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Shorty and a sister Alberta Seems Fruit.

Survivors include her son, Bob Johnson and wife Leslie of Olathe , Kansas; granddaughter, Stacy Johnson Bobnett and husband David of Chicago, Illinois and St. Louis, Missouri and a grandson Scott Elliott Johnson of Olathe, Kansas.

Funeral services will be Thursday, February 16, 2006 at 1:00 PM at Leola Missionary Baptist Church in Leola with Bro. Johnie Brewster officiating. Burial will follow at Leola Cemetery. Visitation: 6-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
