Doris Loraine Denson Shoptaw of Prattsville, Arkansas was born September 17, 1931 at Star City, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Jesse and Johnny Newberry Denson. She was a member of Social Hill Missionary Baptist Church and was a retired cosmetologist and beautician.

Mrs. Shoptaw died Saturday, December 19, 2009, at Saline Memorial Hospital in Benton at the age of 78. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her son, Bobby Lynn Shoptaw, Great Grandson, Braden Shoptaw and brother, Joel Denson.

Survivors include her husband, Walter Don Shoptaw of Prattsville; Daughter-in-law, Malindia Shoptaw of Paron; Grandchildren, Preston and wife Jennifer Shoptaw, Brent Shoptaw and Brandie Lynn and husband Justin Jones; 1 Great Grandson, Eliot Jones; Sisters, Alyne Herring of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Ruth and husband Dwayne Darling of Massena, New York.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel in Sheridan with Bro. Curtis Kyle and Bro. Don Goodman officiating. Burial will follow in Philadelphia Cemetery at Prattsville. Visitation will be Monday, 6:00-8:00 P.M.
