IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dorothy Marie
Bone
February 4, 1937 – October 26, 2022
Our Mom and Nanny, Dorothy Marie Bone was born February 4, 1937. After putting up a superhuman fight, she went to be with Jesus October 26, 2022. We know that she is rejoicing to be reunited with her husband, Paul Daniel (P.D.) Bone, her parents Walton and Hattie Guidry, and her sister Juanita Boyles.
She raised four children: Danny Bone, Terri (Lee) Henson, Tony (Kerri) Bone, and Tanya (David) Damron, all of Sheridan.
Her small army of grandchildren adored her, and will sorely miss her hugs, name drops, and unfiltered commentary. Kristy Shepherd of West Monroe, LA; Tyler (Hannah) Bone of Little Rock; Brady (Hope) Bone of Sheridan; Lindsay (Steven) Rich of Sheridan; Jenna (Lance) Smith of Midlothian, TX; Jamison (Keith) Lewis of Midlothian, TX; Kolby Shepherd of Little Rock; Hannah Elrod of Lakeland, FL; Elyse (Justin) Koon of Sheridan; and Callie Griffith of Sheridan will always cherish their memories of Nanny, and have plenty of stories to tell about her for generations to come.
She also leaves behind the highlight of her recent years— her great-grandchildren: Evan and Hudson Shepherd; Henry and George Bone; Avery Rich; Price, Brody, and Huck Smith; Owen Lewis; and Hayes and Noah Koon.
Nanny was an avid bowler, with more accolades than we could list (and more awards than we could display). She loved to shop, cook, and eat at her favorite restaurants. On holidays, she could be found in the kitchen showing off her Cajun cooking skills, surrounded by family who couldn't wait for her to finish the gumbo. We will forever be grateful that we were able to watch her overcome and achieve so much in her 85 years. The one thing she strived so hard for, but unfortunately did not accomplish before she left this earth—was win the Publishers Clearinghouse Sweepstakes.
Services will be held at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Friday, October 28, 2022 with visitation from 10:00am-12:00pm and funeral to follow. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Sheridan.
Pallbearers are dear family friends Justin Allen, Trent Allen, Steven Coleman, Mike Nevens, Joe Chaney, Jeff Bone, Jake Easley, and Ronnie Huff. Bro. Michael Daugherty and Dr. Sam Adkins to officiate.
