Dorothy Steed Mooney of Cabot, Arkansas was born September 8, 1932 at Pine Bluff, the daughter of the late William Eley Steed, Sr. and Odie Smith Steed. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Pine Bluff and was a retired accountant. Her greatest joy in life was her family. She loved being a wife, mother, and grandmother.

Mrs. Mooney died Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at North Metro Medical Center in Jacksonville at the age of 76. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by siblings, Emma Ilene Steed, Howard Steed, Sr., Jesse Roy Steed and his wife Dolly and Joyce Earnest.

Survivors include her husband and best friend for 53 years, Raymond Mooney of Cabot; Daughter, Carol Ann Meadors and husband Rick of Cabot; Grandchildren, Beth Meadors of Kennesaw, Georgia and Matt Meadors of Cabot; Brother, William E. Steed, Jr. and wife Frances of Pine Bluff; Brother-in-law, David Earnest of Rison; Sister-in-law, Lucille Steed of Pine Bluff, and a host of other nieces, nephews, and friends.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, August 28, 2009 at Philadelphia Cemetery in Prattsville (Grant County), with Rev. Charles May and Roy Steed officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel in Sheridan.
