Obituary

Dorothy Jean Pumphrey Harper of Sheridan, Arkansas was born on April 22, 1926 at Malvern, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Levin Eugene and Bertha Marie Reynolds Pumphrey. She died on October 23, 2004 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock at the age of 78 years.

She was a member of Harmony Missionary Baptist Church in Prattsville, Arkansas, was an Licensed Practical Nurse having graduated from the Little Rock School of Nursing, and was an Avon representative in Sheridan for many years. She was the widow of J.M. Harper, Sr., and was also preceded in death by a son, Mike Harper and a grandson, Lee Richardson.

Survivors: 3 sons: Johnny (Novilla) Harper - Magnet Cove, Arkansas; Jimmy (Sandra) Harper-Prattsville, Arkansas and Gene (Neena) Pumphrey of Hot Springs, Arkansas.
2 daughters, Marcie (David) Paxton - Prattsville, Arkansas; Cindy (Ron) Richardson - Sheridan, Arkansas; and Daughter-In-Law, Olivia Harper of San Benito, Texas.
1 brother: Joe (Genyce) Pumphrey -Sheridan, Arkansas
sister: Suda (Freddie) Harrington - Prattsville, Arkansas

15 Grandchildren and 12 Great-Grandchildren

Funeral Service will be Monday, October 25, 2004 at 2:00 PM at Harmony Missionary Baptist Church in Prattsville, Arkansas with Reverend Don Goodman and Reverend Shawn Hill officiating. Burial will be in Philadelphia Cemetery at Prattsville by Memorial Gardens Funeral Home of Sheridan. Visitation will be Sunday from 3 to 6 pm at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Sheridan.
