IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Doyle Clinton
Mccool
October 5, 1934 – October 20, 2023
Doyle Clinton McCool of Sheridan, Arkansas was born October 5, 1934 in the Little Creek Community, near Sheridan, the son of the late Ira Clinton McCool and Lela Rhoden McCool. He was a member of Little Creek Missionary Baptist Church and proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He lived his entire life and raised his family in the Little Creek Community, just outside of Sheridan. He served his community as Constable for a time, and still made sure he kept up with all the happenings in Grant County by being a fixture at the local diner's coffee drinkers table. He was the very definition of someone who "never met a stranger". He would talk to anyone, anytime, about anything. He enjoyed making people laugh out loud with his stories (MOST of which were true). Doyle had been a truck driver since he was a teenager. He provided for his family one mile at a time and he made many friends and memories along the way. In fact, he could still be found sitting in the parking lot in his red Dodge pickup truck at his daughter's "Yellowjacket Drive-in" dairy bar, in the center of town, bluegrass blaring through his speakers, just watching the big trucks go by (and maybe napping a little also). The love of his life was, without a doubt, his family. They were his pride and joy.
Mr. McCool died Friday, October 20, 2023 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff, at the age of 89.
