Edith Holiman Hope of Prattsville, Arkansas was born October 31, 1910 at Prattsville, the daughter of the late Powell and Pearl Shoptaw Holiman. She was a faithful member of Harmony Missionary Baptist Church at Prattsville and was formerly a business teacher at Prattsville High School.

Mrs. Hope died Tuesday, May 23, 2006 at her home at the age of 95. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sherman Hope; Son, Eddie Hope; Sister, Floy Hope; and brother Lester Holiman.

Survivors include granddaughters, Brenda and husband Tim Yarbrough of Sheridan, and Amanda Henry of Sheridan. Great grandchildren, Nicholas, Kaelyn, and Madison Yarbrough and Grace and Madison Wagner. She is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, May 26, 2006 at Harmony Missionary Baptist Church at Prattsville with Bro. Jim Wagner and Bro. Vernon Bass officiating. Burial will be at Philadelphia Cemetery in Prattsville. Visitation: Thursday, 6-8 P.M. Pallbearers are Billy Joe Crutchfield, Alvin Hardin, Freddie Harrington, David Paxton, Marion Crutchfield and John Herbert Ashcraft. Honorary pallbearer will be Orville Ashley.
