Eldon Opal Pledger of the Palestine Community, near Sheridan, was born April 21, 1935 at Belleville, Arkansas, the son of the late Opal R. and Hazel Taylor Pledger.  He was a proud Patriot, having served in the United States Army during the Korean War.  He retired from Frito-Lay, enjoyed fishing and was an avid Arkansas Razorback fan.

Mr. Pledger died Friday, December 9, 2022 at his home, at the age of 87.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Louise Walkup.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Linda Cranford Pledger of the home; sons, Martin Pledger of Hot Springs, Kevin Pledger and family of Sheridan, Darrin Pledger (Shelli) of Benton; brother, James R. Pledger (Sharon) of Florida; 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, December 15, 2022, at Jones-Palestine Cemetery near Sheridan, with Bro. John Brown officiating.  Visitation is Wednesday, 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
