Elise Grogan Hicks, age 92, lifelong resident of East End (Saline County) died March 5, 2007 at her home. She was a charter member of Trinity Baptist Church in Mabelvale, a retired licensed practical nurse and owner of Popular Fashions Dress Shop. Her main vocation in life was being a devoted mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Laura Grogan; husband, Coy Hicks; Son, Max Hicks; brother, Jim Grogan; sisters, Pearl Grogan Kelly; Glennie Grogan Wright and Lois Grogan Miller.

She is survived by a son, Huey Hicks and a daughter Rita Roberts, both of East End. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.


Funeral Services will be10:00 AM Thursday, March 8, 2007 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Sheridan with Rev. Larry Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery in East End. Visitation: 6-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be grandsons; Chip Hicks, Paul Roberts, Byron Hicks, Breit Hicks; great-grandsons; Jody Beard, P. J. Beard, Jake Wilkerson, Heath Wilkerson; grandsons-in-law, Rick Davis, Joe Beard, Michael Badley, Harvey Kilburn and nephew Joe Saunders.
