Elmer Gene Williams of Sheridan, Arkansas was born August 16, 1929 at Trenton, New Jersey, the son of the late John Thomas "J.T." and Bertha Pruitt Williams. Elmer was a proud American, and Patriot, having served his entire career in the United States Army. Among his many commendations was The Bronze Star. Mr. Williams was an ROTC instructor, a member of the DAV, and enjoyed quail hunting, camping, and fishing.
Mr. Williams died Monday, August 10, 2020 at his home in Sheridan, just a few days shy of his 91 st birthday. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Emogene Marcelle Bratton Williams; granddaughter, Melissa Jackson; sister, Virgie Arnold; brother, Richard Williams.
Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Denise Williams of Conway, Michael and Elizabeth Williams of Sheridan; daughters and sons-in-law, Diana and Louis Jackson of Sheridan, Joann and Tony Black of Bella Vista; brother, Donald Williams of Sheridan; grandchildren, Andrew (Melissa) Jackson, Chase (KaLynn) Williams, Kara (Chad) Harvey, Blake (Brittany) Williams, Brett Black, Hayden (Megan) Williams, Anna Grace Williams; 12 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren on the way.
Due to Covid-19, only private family services will be held. Burial will be at Philadelphia Cemetery at Prattsville.
