Eva Eloise McGinley Davis, 70, of East End passed away from this life into her eternal life with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, November 2nd, 2015, surrounded by her family that she dearly loved so much.
Eloise was born November 16, 1944 to the late Dan and Eva McGinley. Besides her parents, Eloise was preceded into heaven by the father of her children, Michael Forte, a nephew, Heath McGinley; great nephew, Eli McGinley.
Eloise is survived by her husband, Johnny; one son, Ben Forte (Julie); two daughters, Lisa Forte (Wayne), and Michelle Metzger (Roger), all of Sheridan; grandchildren, Dalton Forte, Zack Reynolds, and Shelby Metzger, all of Sheridan; three brothers, Danny McGinley (Brenda), Clinton McGinley (Gina) , Dale McGinley (Sherre), all of East End; nephews, Jake (Hallie) McGinley, Brad (Serena) McGinley, Jesse (Jodie) McGinley; nieces, Sara (Brent) King, Leslie (Kevin) Smith, Jami (Zack) Eaves; stepdaughters, Debbie Stewart, Patricia (Brian) Rinker; step-son, Johnny (Angie ) Davis; step-grandchildren, Kenny, Angela, Brighten, and Hayden.
Eloise worked many years as LPN for Dr. Clyde Paulk. She went on to teach nursing at Ouachita Vo-Tech School in Malvern, then to continue her career at the Arkansas School for the Deaf, where she worked in the infirmary. This quickly became her favorite job, as she spent her days caring for the students. She became fluent in sign language, and loved to share it at every opportunity.
Eloise's legacy is her family she leaves behind. Born into a family with three brothers, she was simply known as "sister". This simple word was such a term of endearment and pride to her. There was nothing she loved more than she loved her brothers. When she was diagnosed with cancer, her three brothers, three children, and husband went to appointments to discuss her treatment. In this very crowded, small room, she sat with a smile on her face because her "family" was there. She always said they are my "support team". Sometimes God doesn't stop the storm-He strengthens the Saints. It was not God's will to cure Eloise of the storm of cancer, but for three years she fought with the determination and grace of a Saint.
She was a charter member of Springlake Church of the Nazarene in East End, where she attended until her health prevented her from doing so.
Pallbearers will be John Thurston, Brad Long, Steve Wilson, Jake McGinley, Brad McGinley, and Jesse McGinley.
Memorials may made to the Arkansas Chapter of the American Cancer Society or Springlake Church of the Nazarene Memorial Fund, 21607 North Springlake Road, Hensley, Arkansas 72065.
