Obituary

Ernestine Ashcraft Hedden of Grapevine, Arkansas was born October 16, 1926 in Grapevine, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Hermie Vearl and Mary Jamie Ross Ashcraft. She was a member of Hedden Chapel Assembly of God Church at Grapevine where she was active for many years in the Women's Ministry. She was a member of the original Hedden Chapel Quartet.

Ernestine loved the farm/country life. She enjoyed picking cotton, milking cows, raising chickens, gardening, canning and making quilts. She was an excellent cook, specializing in souse, fried pies and cornbread just to name a few.

Ernestine died Thursday, August 8, 2019 at Ashley Health and Rehab in Rogers at the age of 92.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ted Savaner Hedden; son, Reuben Hedden; brothers, Athel Ashcraft and Othel Ashcraft.

Survivors: son, Jeff and wife Roxanne Hedden of Grapevine; daughters, Cindy and husband Bill Johnson of Fayetteville, Rose Hedden of Sheridan; sisters, Mary and husband Jim Bradshaw of Sheridan, Esther and husband Will Ramey of Hot Springs; 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, church family and friends.

Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, August 12, 2019 at Hedden Chapel Assembly of God Church in Grapevine with Bro. Tom Young, Bro. Don Ashcraft, Bro. Jimbo Manning and Jeff Hedden officiating. Burial will follow at Hedden Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday from 4:00-6:00 P.M.

Pallbearers are Tom Bradshaw, Bruce Hedden, Randy Plunkett, Clint Hedden, DoniJon Hedden, Carlton Lites, Darrell Hedden and Dwight Hedden. Honorary pallbearers are Jim Bradshaw, Don Carter, Will Ramey, Lonnie Crabtrey, Bobby Bradford and Glen Bradford.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hedden Chapel Cemetery, c/o Kendra Bradford, 3854 Grant 14, Grapevine, Arkansas 72057.
