Esther Files Allen of Sheridan, Arkansas was born May 17, 1918 in Fordyce, Arkansas the daughter of the late Walter Lee Files and Lura Bell Davis Files. She was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Sheridan and had worked for many years at The Grant County Library.

Mrs. Allen died Thursday, May 6, 2010 at Stoneybrook Nursing Home in Benton at the age of 91.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Allen, a son, George Leonard Allen, brothers, Lester and Ray Files, sisters, Mavine Ward and Mary Atrice Lockhart, a grandson, Rick Allen, a granddaughter, Kimberly Renee Allen Lewis and a great grandson, Brandon Ford and a son-in-law, Joe Boyd..

Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, May 10, 2010 at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Danny Hill and Bro. Michael Walton officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Branch Cemetery. Visitation: Sunday 3:00 until 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Steve Ward, Dennis Allen, Greg Wright, D.B.Gwin, Jr. Ralph Holland and Harley Paty.
