IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Evelyn
Nugent-Fachin
January 11, 1954 – March 1, 2023
Evelyn Grace Nugent Fachin of Sheridan, passed away on March 1 st at the age of 69 after a courageous battle with breast cancer.
Evelyn was blessed to have been brought up in a large, loving family in the Ain Community and graduated from Grapevine High School in 1972. She retired from the United States Postal Service in 2019 after 36 years of service.
Evelyn was truly skilled at most anything she tried. In her earlier years, Evelyn loved playing sports, going to I-30 speedway, and racing at Big T's Mudtrack. More recently you were likely to find her reading, traveling, or hitting the slots. She often designed and altered dresses and costumes for her family.
Evelyn was a loving, patient, and kind wife, mother and friend. But her greatest accomplishments were her grandchildren. Her love of coffee and books will live on through them all.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Willie Grace Vailes Nugent, and her sister Mildred.
Evelyn is survived by her husband Serge Fachin, daughters Meggan (Kevin) Murphy and Abby (Zach) Whitaker, brothers Wayne (Glenda) Nugent and Shayne (TiffanyEichler ) Nugent, sisters Marilyn Fitzwater and Patti (Lee) Blundell, grandchildren Gracen and Gannyn Murphy, and Remi, Charli, and Indi Whitaker and many nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her greatly.
Although she battled cancer for over 25 years, she never stopped fighting. No matter how sick she was, she was determined to not let her illness affect her family. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly look like. Life without Nonni seems impossible, but we take strength in knowing she is happy and healthy.
Please join the family for a casual Celebration of Life service beginning at 5 PM on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Memorial Gardens in Sheridan.
