Everett Francis “Biggie” Clement, age 77, went through the veil to meet family, friends and Jesus Christ our Savior on Monday, April 20, 2026 peacefully at home with his wife Jean.
Born in the old Davis Hospital in Pine Bluff on March 13, 1949, he was the son of the late Aron James and Sarah Elizabeth Gibbs Clement.
Everett was a graduate of Dollarway High School and Paducah Junior College earning an associate’s degree in industrial maintenance with a 4.0 grade point average and a place on the Dean’s list.
Everett ended his working life after 18 years at Westvaco Paper in Wickliffe, Kentucky and 21 years at International Paper in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. He enjoyed the challenges and loved so many of the people that he was able to work with.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and enjoyed most his service with the youth as Young Men’s President, Scout Master, Teacher and assistant Girl’s Camp Director and First Cook. He also served on the High Counselor in two Stakes, Counselor in the Bishopric multiple times and Branch President and Elder’s Quorum President. He loved serving his Savior Jesus Christ in all these positions and as a member of his church. Many of his stories were about the fun times he had with the many young people he had the joy of knowing.
He loved telling jokes and never forgot the punch line. He also enjoyed telling stories of his experiences and some “True Stories”. He also enjoyed stories and jokes from others. Thanks for all the memories, friends.
He was an avid outdoorsman who loved the beauty around him. He had many friends that he enjoyed it with including several dogs who he hunted, trained and loved.
He married his eternal companion, Margie Jean Palmer Clement on October 2, 1971 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. They spent 54 wonderful years together and enjoyed everything together except hunting.
Everett was preceded in death by his parents his stepmother, Deloris Causey Clement, and a daughter Elizabeth Anne Clement.
He is survived by his wife and his son Mark Clement (Dana) and a daughter Autumn Lynn Curry (Devin) and one granddaughter Evelyn Curry; two brothers, Aron Ray Clement (Ann) of Rison and Ronnie Asher Clement of White Hall and many nieces, nephews. He is also survived by honorary grandchildren Derek Stetzer, Adam and Alyse Scheetz and four great grandchildren Caiman, Addie, Morgan, and Rex Scheetz.
Visitation will be on Saturday, April 25, 2026 from 1:00-2:00 PM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on Ridgeway Road in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. His service will follow in the chapel of the church at 2:00 PM. He will be laid to rest in Clement Cemetery in the Grapevine Community.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Youth Program at his church or to Clement Cemetery Fund c/o Rod Clement or a charity of your choice.
