IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Everette Lee
Watson
September 19, 1964 – October 27, 2022
Everette Lee Watson of Sheridan, Arkansas was born September 19 , 1964 at Pine Bluff, Arkansas. To list all of his accomplishments and activities would be impossible, and would also upset him. Everette didn't ever want the pats on the back, he just wanted to do whatever it took to make things better for his family, his friends, and his community. He didn't do it for the credit. For 35 years, he's worked alongside his brother Max, as a combination mechanic, wrecker operator, therapist, and best friend to countless numbers of people in Grant County. One of his proudest accomplishments was serving with Calvert Volunteer Fire Department for the past 33 years. He has been Chief for several years, and was working at the fire station, doing what he loved, when he died. For Everette, it was much more than fighting fire. He approached it as a way to make a difference in the lives of people he knew and loved, as well as people he'd never meet. He also belonged to Grant County Mutual Aid Association, served as an instructor for fire training, was on the Mutual aid Scholarship board, and former President of the Arkansas Fire Chief's Association. He served as Constable and Justice of the Peace. If that didn't already keep him busy, he was also President of New Hope Cemetery Association, he enjoyed wood working and furniture building, and was a great cook on the grill. He was also a soccer coach and was instrumental in getting the Sheridan School District to offer Soccer to their students some years back. This is just a short list of things Everette accomplished or enjoyed, but most people in Grant County and beyond, knew him as simply a loyal, caring, compassionate friend. He leaves behind a rich legacy of service to his fellow man and he won't be forgotten.
Mr. Watson ended his watch, Thursday, October 27 , 2022 at Calvert Fire Station #2 at the age of 58. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Vernell Brewer Bradbury.
