Floyd Carrol O'Brien of Sheridan, Arkansas passed away August 26, 2011 at home at the age of 81.
Carrol was born August 14, 1930 in Sheridan, Arkansas to the late John C. And Annie O'Brien. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Donald and Dennis O'Brien.
Carrol is survived by his wife, Mavis, two daughters, Terri O'Brien Bone and husband Danny and Lela O'Brien Hampton and husband Lawrence; sister, Susie Wilson and husband Tim; two grandsons, Tyler and Brady Bone, three granddaughters, Laura Hampton Oyler and husband Austin, Erica and Bethany Hampton, one great-grandson, Logan Snow.
Carrol was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of Toler Lake Hunting Club and First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church. He served in the Navy and was a Veteran of the Korean War. He was retired from Weyerhaeuser and Gaylord Paper Co. Carrol enjoyed watching and supporting his grandsons in Yellowjacket sports.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, August 29, 2011 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Fleming officiating. Burial will follow at Lost Creek Cemetery in Sheridan.
Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Danny Bone, Tyler Bone, Brady Bone, Jeff Blackwell, Donnie Logan and Mike Logan. Honorary pallbearers are Brian Wilson, Tim Wilson and Matthew Wilson.
