F rank Lee Young was born December 31, 1927 to the late Frances Frank and Orah Mae Womble Young in the Crossroads Community of Grant County. He passed away December 30 just one day shy of his 96th birthday at Sheridan Healthcare and Rehab.

He is preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers, 4 sisters-in-law, 4 brothers-in-law, and his loving wife of 64 years, Valeta Johnson Young and son-in-law, Col. (ret.) James (Pat) Ewing.

He is survived by his daughter, Mary Ellen Young Ewing of Sheridan and honorary son, Carey Heaster of Jefferson, TX. Sisters Velma Wingard and Frances Nelson of Sheridan; Pat Young of Bismark; Sister-in-law, Martha Barnes of Sheridan; Grandchildren, Jamie Ewing of Sheridan and Talmadge Ewing(Mary) of McEwen, TN; Great-Grandchildren, Emma, Elliot, Maggie, Lotte, Pete and Priscilla(his PC) Ewing. A host of nieces and nephews and special fur babies; Zedd, Dolly, Buttercup, TC, and Little Sis.

Mr. Young retired from International Paper Company after 39 years of loyal service as a low boy driver/heavy equipment operator. He enjoyed traveling our great nation and Canada seeing 47 of our 50 states; camping and hanging out with his wife and buddy, Sadie. He came to know the Lord at 13 years of age and has been a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church ever since. He faithfully served Shiloh as a deacon for 75 years. He was beloved by all who have had the opportunity to know him and will be greatly missed.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 5, 2024 at Memorial Gardens Funeral with Bro. John Brown, Bro. Danny Hill and Talmadge Ewing officiating. Burial will follow at Ain Cemetery in Grapevine. Visitation: Thursday from 6:00-8:00P.M. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Eric Petty, Wayne Harris, Laronne Gartman, Wayne McElroy, Steve Ward, Randy Harrington and Joe Johnson. Honorary pallbearers are Dennis Allen, George Parrault, and Buddy McElroy.
