Fred Vernon Lisenbey of Poyen, Arkansas was born July 29, 1944 in Sheridan, Arkansas, the son of the late Robert Alton and Thelma Elizabeth Fite Lisenbey. He was a member of Lisenbey Family Hunting Club, and had served in the US Army. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, telling jokes and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Mr. Lisenbey died Monday, April 3, 2017 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Malvern at the age of 72.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Benny Lisenbey, sister, Elizabeth Benning, and a daughter, Lorie Michelle Lisenbey.
Survivors: wife and best friend of 42 years, Shirley Heird Lisenbey of Poyen; sons, Jerry Johnson and wife Geana of Twisp, Washington, Christopher Lisenbey of Poyen; daughters, Joann Gifford of Sheridan, Deborah Bruner and husband Peter of Sheridan, Renee Benning and husband Rodney of Prattsville, Rebecca Lisenbey of Poyen; brother, Wayne Lisenbey of Washington State; sister, Madie Harrington of Star City; 15 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; his dog, Echo and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, April 7, 2017 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jacob Tackitt officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 1:00 until service time.
