Gary Ray James, of Hensley, Arkansas was born in DeQueen, Arkansas on November 26, 1948, the son of the late Gerald Deward James and Pearlene Green James. He died at his home on March 26, 2010 at the age of 61 years. He was a self-employed transportation broker and member of St. Andrews Cathedral in Little Rock. He was preceded in death by his sister, Bartie Jean James-Campbell.

Gary was a loving father and husband and is survived by his wife Susan Mary Simon James and a son, Seburne Mathias James, both of the home. He is also survived by two daughters, Amy Deanne James of California and Amber Leigh James of Horatio, Arkansas;
Two brothers, Dale Carlton and wife Linda James of Arlington, Texas;
Ricky D. and wife Pat James of DeQueen, Arkansas; a Grandchild K'Leigh Guillotte; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at 2:00 PM at East Union Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery at East End. Visitation will be Monday evening from 6 until 8 P.M. at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Sheridan.
