IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gary Nolan
Lumsden
November 20, 1945 – May 15, 2022
Gary Nolan Lumsden, age 76, of Hensley, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, May 15, 2022 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock.
Gary grew up in Sheridan, Arkansas on a farm with his parents, Robert "Doc" & Marie "Ree" Gartman Lumsden. He enjoyed the outdoors and most aspects of farm life. He was very much involved in the social aspect of school at Sheridan High School. He was class Vice President his senior year and enjoyed planning events and serving his class. This continued for years after with the organization of multiple class reunions. He loved people and loved being the center of attention.
Gary was also a talented musician (drummer & singer) and absolutely loved music and performing. He was in several bands throughout his adult years and was always entertaining people either with his music or his stories. He never met a stranger. He had such a great sense of humor and could find a joke in any situation. He loved listening to all types of music. If he really liked a song, he'd say it gave him "happy feet".
Gary adored animals of all kinds and had such a kind heart towards them. If he saw a stray or helpless animal, it wasn't a stray for long. He'd take it home and make it part of the family. He also was an avid Razorback fan.
Gary is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Kim Gregory Lumsden and his children, Todd Lumsden and Holly (Chris) Diggs; grandchildren, Caroline, Luke, Griffin, and Grayson Lumsden. and his in-laws, Troy and Jeannie Gregory of Malvern.
Graveside service will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at Philadelphia Cemetery with Bro. DeHaan Thornton officiating. Visitation will be at the graveside at 9:30 AM prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Humane Society or ASPCA. That is what he would have wanted.
