Herman Gene Vaughn, Jr. of Sheridan, Arkansas was born July 22, 1950 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas, the son of Herman G. Vaughn, Sr., and the late Margaret Elizabeth "Betty" Kagan Vaughn. He was retired from the Pine Bluff Arsenal, was a retired Chief Master Sergeant in Air Guard 188th in Ft. Smith, Arkansas, and was a member of the Palestine Hunting Club. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, and drinking coffee with his friends at Hardees. He also enjoyed restoring and tinkering with old cars and was especially proud of his 1970 Chevelle SS. He was a great dad and grandfather to his children and grandchildren.

Mr. Vaughn died Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock at the age of 67.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Survivors: wife of 27 years, Margaret Leona Wasson Vaughn of Sheridan; son, Tim Waggoner of Sheridan; Angela Irvin (Johnny) of Sheridan; brother, Ken Vaughn (Arlene) of Ft. Smith; grandchildren, Johnny (Levi) Irvin III, Ryan King, Jared King, Tessa Irvin, Kolton Waggoner, Colby Irvin, Dalton Irvin and a host friends.

Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mike Gazelle officiating. Burial will follow at Jacob Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday at the funeral home from 6-8 P.M.

Pallbearers are his grandsons, Levi, Ryan, Jared, Kolton, Colby and Dalton. Honorary pallbearer is his granddaughter, Tessa.
