Georgann Elizabeth Shorter Smith of Sheridan, Arkansas was born May 27, 1951 in Ardmore, OK, the daughter of the late Lee Paul and Gladys Cook Shorter. She was a special education teacher and supervisor of special education for over 26 years and a member of First United Church of Sheridan.

She enjoyed gardening, reading, art work, painting and crafting.

Georgann died June 24, 2023 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock at the age of 72.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, John and David Shorter.

Survivors: son, Merrick Bland of Searcy, Joel (Meghan) Bland of Ozark, Missouri; daughter, Christine Elizabeth Bland of Conway; 7 grandchildren, Ebin, Jacob, Parker, John Patrick, Avery, Mayleah and Mariella and many extended family members and friends.

A Memorial Service will be Saturday, August 5, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with Bro. Michael Walton and her son, Joel Bland officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 9:00 A.M. until service time.
