George Louis Gilbert of Prattsville, Arkansas was born October 2, 1932 in Blytheville, the son of the late Joe D. Gilbert and Essie Lucille Clark Gilbert. He was owner/operator of George's Diesel and had served in the US Army. He was a member of New Life Fellowship Church in Sheridan and enjoyed camping, playing dominoes and playing music.

Mr. Gilbert died at his home on Monday, August 12, 2024 at the age of 91.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Margie Ann Johnson Gilbert; daughters, Brenda Cotton and Gwendolyn Gilbert; sister, Louise Brown; and numerous brothers and sisters.

Survivors: brother, Glen Gilbert of Monticello; sisters, Shirley Gilbert of Jefferson, Texas, Jo Rita Franks of Meridian, Idaho; Doris Callison of Oakley, CA, Joyce Elliot of Gardenville, NV; grandsons, Brandyn (Micah) and DJ; special nieces, Julie Bryant and Evelyn Crutchfield, special caregiver, John Cordell; and a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Funeral service will be Friday, August 16, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Cypert and Bro. Dylan Moody officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10:00 until service time. Burial will be in Philadelphia Cemetery in Prattsville.

Pallbearers are Dale Crutchfield, Kevin Bryant, Michael Gilbert, Justin Moody, Dylan Moody, Paden Bryant, Tony Gilbert, and Sammy Moore.
