George Boyd McGlothen, Jr., of Sheridan, Arkansas was born April 9, 1926 at Newport, Kentucky, the son of the late George Boyd McGlothen, Sr. and Ethel Wills McGlothen. He was Presbyterian and retired owner and founder of McGlothen Trucking Company. Mr. McGlothen enjoyed golf and traveling and especially loved spending time with his family.

Mr. McGlothen died Sunday, November 8, 2009 at his home in Sheridan at the age of 83.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby Short McGlothen of Sheridan; Sons, George Boyd McGlothen, III and wife Mary of Connersville, Indiana and Patrick and wife Nola McGlothen of Sheridan; Daughter, Dianne Ray and husband David of Prattsville; Sister, Ann Combs of Lexington, Kentucky; Grandchildren, Ryan, Jason, Amber, Jarrod, Jeff, Sandy, David, Jr. and Lori; 12 Great Grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home chapel in Sheridan with Bro. Michael Walton officiating. Visitation will also be Tuesday, from 1:00-3:00 P.M.. A private family interment will be held at a later date in the McGlothen Family Cemetery in Bath, Kentucky.
