Gerald Earl Powell of Sheridan, Arkansas passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026, at St. Vincent Medical Center. Born on December 5, 1961, in Saint Petersburg, Florida, the son of the late Jim Powell and Barbara Coan Gardner. Gerald spent much of his life exemplifying dedication, both in his career and in his personal life. Gerald worked for two decades as an operator for Redstone Construction, where his commitment and work ethic were highly regarded. He was also a faithful member of Ephesus Missionary Baptist Church in Sheridan, Arkansas. Gerald loved to fish, hunt, gardening, and enjoyed target shooting activities. Above all, he cherished his family, who were the center of his life and happiness.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Rebecca Webb Powell, and their daughter, Danielle (David) Powell. He is also survived by his sisters, Eileen Rivero , Cheryl (Troy) Burnette, Tina Powell, and Tina Lovell, brother Michael Zopf, his sister-in-law Kimberly Spink, and his nephew C.J. Spink.

In addition to his parents, Gerald was preceded in death by his brother Robert Gardner, sister Brenda Carter, and his nephew J.D. Scott.

Visitation will be at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Sheridan, Arkansas, Tuesday, March 17, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Graveside service will be held at Philadelphia Cemetery in Prattsville, Arkansas, Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. with Bro. Dennis Fuggit officiating. Pallbearers will be David Miller, David Dauterive, C.J. Spink, Levi Witham, Terry Davis, and Lynn Kervin.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the funeral home or to the family to help with expenses.
