Geraldine Weaver Tharpe of Van Buren, Arkansas formerly of Sheridan, Arkansas was born December 29, 1928 in Joiner, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Maude Eldora (M.E.) And Katie Lea Sharpe Weaver.

Mrs. Tharpe died on Monday, October 7, 2013 at Van Buren Health and Rehab Center at the age of 84.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Sheridan and in her earlier years had been a member of Southside Baptist Church in Pine Bluff where she served as pianist for both churches. She had played the piano for over 65 years.
She also enjoyed crossword puzzles, watching sports on tv, playing games on her computer and square dancing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David L. Tharpe, her sister, Mary Frances Weaver Rhodes and a great grandchild, Zoe Elizabeth McCool.

Survivors: son, Greg and wife Denise Tharpe of El Dorado, Hills, California; daughter, Jerri and husband Tom Ryan of Fort Smith; brothers, Dwight Weaver of Chapel Hill, North Carolina; Phil Weaver of White Hall; sister, Juanita Hunt of Fayetteville;14 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and one on the way.

Funeral: 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 10, 2013 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Matthew Weaver officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 9:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
