Gertrude Elise Spann Hicks of Redfield, Arkansas was born April 11, 1926 in the Orion Community, the daughter of the late William Luther Spann Sr. and Dessie Ola Chandler Spann. She was a member of Orion Missionary Baptist Church, was retired from Timex, and she enjoyed music and loved animals.

Mrs. Hicks died Monday, November 21, 2011, at home, at the age of 85. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Clements, her brother, Luther Spann, Jr. and her sister, Arie Vivene Spann.

Survivors include her son, Charles and wife Margaret Clements of Little Rock; daughter, Carolyn and husband Joe Jasso of Redfield; grandchildren, Jeff and wife Linda Jasso, Rita and husband Dewayne Dillon, Chris Baugh; great grandchildren, Dewayne and wife Lyndria Dillon, Sarah Dillon, Deserie Jasso, Joseph Jasso, Nathan Baugh, Ryan Baugh; great great grandchildren, Kaylee Dillon, Brady Dillon, Nathan Jasso.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, November 26, 2011 at Orion Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. John Mooney, Jeff Jasso and Kevin Spann officiating. Burial will be in Orion Cemetery. Visitation: 5:00–7:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
