Obituary

Sarah Gladys Reaves Lewis of Sheridan, Arkansas was born April 21, 1918 at the Crossroads Community the daughter of the late Louis Gaine and Eva Wallace Reaves. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Sheridan where she served as music director for many years. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women, the Friendship Sunday School class and a former member of the Sheridan Golf and Country Club. Mrs. Lewis began teaching piano lessons in 1935 and was a music teacher in the Sheridan and Prattsville Schools for many years.

Mrs. Lewis died Tuesday, February 24, 2004 in the Hot Spring County Medical Center at Malvern at the age of 85. She was preceded in death by her husband Stonewall "Stoney" Lewis who died January 20, 2004 and a son Phil Lewis.

Son: Scott Lewis and wife Linda of Sheridan

Daughter: Pat Lewis Humphries and husband Jerry of Sheridan

Sister-in-law: Winnie Reaves of Sheridan

Grandson: J.J. Humphries and wife Amy of Monticello

Granddaughter: Kris Humphries Newcomb and husband Jeff of Benton

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, January 26, 2004 at the First United Methodist Church in Sheridan with Reverend Bruce Bennett officiating. Burial will be at the Lost Creek Cemetery. Visitation: 5-7 P.M. Wednesday. Memorials may be made of First United Methodist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 357, Sheridan, Arkansas 72150.
