Obituary

Marvin Glen Emberton of Sheridan, Arkansas was born August 2, 1924 in Athens, Alabama the son of the late Walter and Lura Mae Smith Emberton. He was a member of Little Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Sheridan, was a farmer when he lived in England, Arkansas and was a home builder after he moved to Sheridan. Glen also served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He also enjoyed camping and fishing.

Mr. Emberton died Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at the age of 84.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Lisa Cotton, and sisters, Nadine Vanhoozer, Margaret Rushing; brothers, Paul Emberton, Audrey Emberton,

Sisters, Elizabeth Brown of Decatur, Alabama;
Olita Allen of Kansas;
Grandchildren: Teri (Jerry Don) Hollingshead, Richie (Drendia) Cotton, Tony (Rachael) Emberton, Scotty Emberton, Stacy (Chuck) Smith, Noble (Danielle) Emberton, Nolan (Laken Moore) Emberton, Noah Emberton; great grandchildren: Ashley (Cody Raber) Cotton, Dylan Hollingshead, Jake Cotton, Justin Cotton, Jake Emberton, Scotty Emberton, Jr., Chandler Emberton, Rani Emberton, Andrew Smith, Noelle Emberton, and one on the way and a great great grandson due in March.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, November 8, 2008 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel in Sheridan with Bro. Robert Ewing and Bro. Rickey Poyner officiating.
Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery near Sheridan. Visitation: 5:00-8:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to Little Creek Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 389, Sheridan, Arkansas 72150.
