Obituary

Glenda Ann Turner of Sheridan, Arkansas was born April 27, 1957 in Rison, Arkansas , the daughter of the late John Edward and Myrtis Marie Sipes Turner. She was of the Lutheran faith and was a former Park Guide for West Yellowstone Park. In fact, that was just one of many jobs she had over the years. She believed in hard work and wasn't afraid to take on any challenge. She enjoyed belonging to a quilting group at her church in South Dakota. Glenda was truly, a free spirit, and as with anyone else, her life was mixture of mountaintops and valleys, but she made an adventure out of every experience. She packed a lot of life in her 57 years, and never looked back. Earlier this year, her niece Keri, reached out to Glenda, who was living alone in South Dakota, and encouraged her to come home and reconnect with her family. Glenda moved back to Arkansas in March, and although none of them knew that her next, and final, journey home would be so soon, her last months were filled with love and joy, making memories with the loves of her life, Keri, her husband Pat and their children, Amber, Kade, and Averi, as well as her nephew Casey, and his wife Sarah. Glenda also leaves behind her best friend and sidekick through it all, her beloved Pomeranian, Rudy.
Glenda died at her home Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at the age of 57.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Roger Turner, Wayne Turner and a sister, Janice Hobbs.
Survivors: niece, Keri Theiss and husband Pat, and their children, Amber, Kade and Averi, all of Prattsville; nephew, Casey Turner and wife Sarah of Little Rock; brother, Bill Turner of Prague Community; several other nieces, nephews and friends.
At Glenda's request, her body was cremated and there will be no services. As mentioned earlier, her dog Rudy, was truly her best friend, and if anyone would like to give a memorial in memory of Glenda, please donate to arkansasanimalrescue.org or to any organization benefiting animals.
